During his training as a medical professional Dr. Qamar realized the deficiency of career counseling centers at medical universities in Pakistan. He observed that many medical students and young doctors were indecisive about their specializations and due to this confusion; they would often become doubtful about their career choice. Dr. Qamar suggested that if medical students and doctors were offered career counseling and guidance on managing their careers based on their Personality TYPE (MBTI), then not only they will be able to excel in their chosen areas of specialization, but they will also learn best practices to manage their careers effectively for continued growth and advancement.

In 2005, Dr. Qamar wish to establish a nationwide career management center that would provide TYPE-Based career guidance to medical students and doctors from all over Pakistan. With the sponsorship of Pakistan’s leading pharmaceutical companies; Macter International and Pharm Evo, Dr. Qamar launched his flagship project, Career Med Mentor. He established a career center by the name of ‘Rahber’ at Dow University and over a period of 3 years, provided career counseling and career management training through MBTI to thousands of medical students and young doctors. Each seminar of his attracted over 100 attendees and his leadership training program on Development of Excellence for Doctors using MBTI was widely commended.

Dr. Qamar believes that if doctors apply TYPE-Based communication to their medical practice then they will be able to understand their colleagues and patients with increased effectiveness.
